Double Mask (2022)
Acrylic & Mixed Media on Paper | A4 Size (8.27 × 11.69 inches)
Double Mask is an evocative exploration of identity, duality, and self-acceptance. Split into two contrasting halves, the piece portrays a woman whose face is partially veiled by a vivid green mask—a metaphor for the external persona shaped by societal pressures. The other half is stripped bare, revealing a textured and vulnerable surface layered with emotion, depth, and truth.
At the centre of the composition, the shared eye serves as a bridge between both worlds—the seen and the hidden—reminding us that these dualities coexist within all of us. Through striking colour choices and tactile mixed media techniques, this A4-sized piece (8.27 × 11.69 inches) challenges the viewer to consider the masks they wear in their daily lives and what lies beneath them.
The work is both a visual and emotional journey, encouraging self-reflection and offering a powerful commentary on the courage it takes to confront one’s true self.
